David Beador is paying $7,000 per month in alimony to his ex-wife, Shannon. It appears Alimony in California is a bit different than in Texas.
Texas is very strict on whether a Court may order Spousal Maintenance (often referred to as Alimony). Shannon and David Beador reached a divorce settlement last week after about 2 years of divorce litigation. You may recognize Shannon from the show Real Housewives of Orange County. The Beadors’ financial agreement included David paying Shannon over $7,000 per month in Alimony for 10 years and paying about $3,000 per month in child support for their 3 teenage daughters.
A monthly spousal support payment ordered in Texas would not be more than $5,000 or 20% of the paying spouse’s average gross monthly income, whichever is less. However, the parties may agree to other amounts and duration, as Shannon and David did.
