Uninsured motorist coverage protects you if you are in an accident with another driver who is both responsible for the accident and does not have insurance.
Did you know that more than 1 out of every 10 drivers on Texas highways and roads are uninsured? This is why we recommend that everyone have uninsured motorist coverage. If you are in an accident with a driver who does not have insurance and they are at fault, you have no legal recourse against them.
Only certain states require you to have this coverage. If you elect to not carry this uninsured motorist and you live in a state that it is not required, you must send a signed letter to your insurance company rejecting the coverage.
