What do you do when...

A parent is diagnosed with Alzheimers or Dementia and is no longer able to make decisions regarding their health care or money…

OR, – An elderly loved one or an elderly friend is being exploited by another whether it be a stranger or a family member…

OR, – A child, spouse, parent or sibling is refusing necessary medical treatment…

OR, – A child, spouse, parent or sibling is refusing to take their psychoactive medication…

OR, – An elderly relatives Doctor tells you they are not able to make informed decisions…

OR, – A child inherits money or property…

Without the proper planning documents the only option to deal with these matters is a Guardianship, which is a legally structured and court supervised method by which one person has authority to act on behalf of another.

To learn more about Guardianships and how they apply to the scenarios listed above please check back next week!
